Jon Isherwood is a sculptor whose work has been widely exhibited in public museums, sculpture parks, public spaces, and private galleries in the United States, Canada, Europe, and China. Working primarily in carved stone, Isherwood develops a sculptural language around form, surface, material, and the associative sensations of shape. His marble sculptures often compress, distort, and transform natural and organic imagery, bringing together the permanence of stone with a sense of movement, ephemerality, and visual lyricism. He is the recipient of a Jerome Foundation Fellowship, a Pollock-Krasner Foundation award, and an Honorary Doctorate from the State University of New York at Plattsburgh. Isherwood is President and a founding member of the Digital Stone Project.
