Annette Sauermann is a German sculptor based in Aachen whose work explores the relationship between light, architecture, space, and perception. Working with materials including concrete, paper, light filters, acrylic, and plexiglass, she creates architectural sculptures, wall reliefs, drawings, and installations that treat ambient light as an active material.
As natural light shifts throughout the day, Sauermann’s works change in appearance, producing subtle transitions of color, shadow, transparency, and depth. Her work has been exhibited at C. Grimaldis Gallery, including Annette Sauermann & Madeleine Dietz: Earth, Light, Paper, Steel in 2024, and is included in collections such as the Ludwig Foundation, Museum Ritter, Museum Biedermann Art.Plus, and Foundation Museum Kunstpalast.
