Summer ’18

June 21 - August 18, 2018

Opening Reception: Thursday, June 21 6-8pm

Join us at C. Grimaldis Gallery for the opening of our 41st annual summer exhibition to preview our upcoming exhibitions and revisit the past season.

This survey exhibition features some of the gallery’s most widely visible artists of international acclaim, such as the canonical British sculptor Anthony Caro (1924-2003), Abstract Expressionist painter Grace Hartigan (1922-2008), and Korean light artist Chul Hyun Ahn.

Celebrating a history of representing influential local artists, Summer ’18 brings together a majority Baltimore- and Maryland-based program and includes several generations of Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) leadership: former president Eugene Leake (1911-2005), professor Raoul Middleman and Hoffberger Director Joan Waltemath.

The exhibition will debut photographs from 2018 Guggenheim Fellow Rania Matar’s ongoing series, SHE, new sculpture by Colin Van Winkle and recent paintings by 2017 Rome Prize recipient Beverly McIver.

C. Grimaldis Gallery is proud to participate in the 2018 Artscape Gallery Network, celebrating the work of the Janet & Walter Sondheim Prize applicants and artists working throughout the region.
